Join us as startup founders from diverse backgrounds discuss the challenges they’ve faced raising capital and share their top asks for how policymakers can facilitate equitable access to capital for all founders as we unveil a new report, Innovation for All.
Underrepresented founders throughout the startup ecosystem face challenges accessing all streams of capital–from venture capital, to angel investment, to federal grants and loans, to personal financing. Diverse startup teams produce more, and often better innovation, but inequities in the startup ecosystem, particularly with respect to capital, impede the success of thousands of diverse founders, slowing American innovation. These barriers are further compounded by external factors like student loan debt and child care cost, which make entrepreneurship out of reach for many.
